When the metal shield is slid open and the disk turned you can read a message scratched into the magnetic disk inside. It basically says "Hi. How's it going?". Apparently, despite Chad's warning, Dennis did immediately put the disk into a computer which seemed to think the disk was unreadable. It was obviously trying too hard.
